333
I had the best grandma in the world. She was sweet, caring, funny, smart... literally everything you would ever want a grandma to be. We lost her on August 2, 2009, and my heart has been missing her ever since.
About a year before she died, she had a stroke. When she went to the hospital, she was put in room 333. For one of her exams, she was placed in exam room 3. For her x-ray, she was placed in room 3... (you get the idea). The whole time she was followed by the number 3. So when we pointed it out to her, she said that she loved that number because of the trinity (she was very religious).
After she passed away, my mom kept seeing 3s ALL OVER the place, and felt like it was my grandma's doing. I told my mom she was crazy - that she was just seeing 3s because she wanted to see 3s. But then I started seeing them too. I experienced a few moments that made me think my grandma might've had something to do with it (mostly involving 333, which is must harder to come by than just one 3), but I was not 100% convinced.
Then yesterday happened.
I was asleep and woke up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee (we have our coffee maker set to "auto" so it turns on every morning and usually wakes me up - it's the best alarm clock). My first thought was, "it can't already be 6:15!" but I enjoyed the scent for a second before turning over to reach for my phone (and to turn off my alarm before it turned on).
And the clock said 3:33.
I don't know why I smelled coffee, but trust me when I say that I did. It woke me up at EXACTLY 3:33, and I have no doubt in my mind that somewhere, somehow, my beautiful grandma was behind it.
(I love you too, grandma!)

I loved reading this because both of my grandmothers were very special to me too and I love seeing things that remind me of them. Reading their bibles and seeing what they once underlined and highlighted is the best!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lauren. How great that you have their bibles to read! What a beautiful memory.
DeleteHey there! Newest follower from the GFC blog hop - and I can totally relate to losing a grandma - it was the hardest thing ever...my grandma died in August of 2005 to cancer in her esophogus (sp?) - and it sucked...but I had something similar happen to me when I Was cleaning my moms house and an angel decoration started playing in the background while I was looking at a picture of my grandma...crazy! hahaha.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I'm so glad that you can relate! It's wonderful knowing that they're still with us<3
