Thank God it's {Good} Friday
Happy Good Friday! (Okay, Good Friday isn't really "happy" - but what it leads to sure is!) I hope you all have a blessed Easter weekend and are able to spend quality time with your family & friends. I'm thankful to be spending Easter weekend with my family this year - Saturday, we're having my aunt, uncle and mom over for a belated birthday celebration for my aunt & husband (and an early Easter feast!), and on Sunday we'll be driving to my hometown to spend the day with my grandma, aunt, dad, sister, & mom. Phew. We are so thankful to be near family and to be able to celebrate Easter with them.
But it isn't Easter yet. Today, Good Friday, marks the remembrance of Jesus' death on the cross. For the past 5 or so years, Sean & I have made it a tradition to watch "The Passion of the Christ" on this night. Although much of the film is hard to watch (it's incredibly emotion and violent), it's an in-your-face reminder of what we believe and what we celebrate on Easter Sunday. I'm so thankful for my faith and that the people closest to me are able to share it.
I'm also thankful for my church, which has been an incredibly welcoming place to my husband & I as we "re" adjusted to ournew old city.

On this blessed day, I pray that each of you remember God's love for all people and celebrate in joy as we prepare for Easter. God bless!
