Heartbeat
Dear baby,
On Friday morning, your daddy and I went to the Doctor's office to get another ultrasound. At 10 weeks & 2 days, I was praying that we would see defined features and hear your heartbeat. I was blessed with all of that and more!
Almost immediately after she put the ultrasound wand onto my belly, we saw you. We saw your little head, arms, and legs. And then, much to my surprise, you started moving your legs and arms all over the place. Of course, I couldn't feel anything (you were still much too tiny!) but I could see you and it was beautiful.
I asked if we would be able to hear your heartbeat, to which she replied "of course!" And there it was... the steady, beautiful sound of your heart beating inside of me. She measured the sound at 169 beats per minute (perfect!) and I couldn't stop beaming with joy. It was absolutely incredible.
Next time I see you, you'll probably be moving around even more and will have even more defined features! I can't wait until I can start feeling those movements in my belly. In the meantime, know how much your daddy and I already love you!
This week was a big week for us for another reason, too. We bought a house! This is going to be your first home. It's a small ranch house with beautiful hardwood floors, 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen/dining area, and a great deck and backyard. Someday, much sooner than I can imagine, you will be running around that backyard and adding more love to our home than should be able to fit!
