My Forever Goals

Do you have a few life goals that have, in the back of your mind, always been there? Goals that you think you will always be stiving to complete? Or goals that will always require work and dedication in order to sustain them?

I have 3 such goals, and I'm happy to say that, for the first time ever, all 3 of them are being nourished simultaneously! My forever goals are as follows:

Spiritual fulfillment
My faith life has always been important to me. I was raised by a very faith-filled mother and was very involved in church during both middle & high school. Throughout college and graduate school, I explored my personal beliefs and tried, on & off, to find a way to make it more of a priority in my life. In truth, Sean & I were both not making our spirituality enough of a priority until recnetly, when we found a new church that we absolutely love. We continue to read our daily devotionals and are putting God at the forefront of our marriage - where He deserves to be.

Physical wellbeing
Although I have a long way to go, my health has become an important part of my daily life. First of all, I am regularly tracking everything that I eat. I am training for another 5K (which, God willing, I will run in July!) and am cooking healthy vegetarian meals with Sean every night. Finding healthy, delicious recipes has become fun for us and I'm happy to say that we're collecting a good number of "favorites" along the way! I hope and pray that my health choices will continue to make the number on the scale decrease...

Financial security
I take pride in my money-management skills, even if I am a bit over-the-top sometimes. An example? I obsessively write down every penny that we spend from our checking accounts so I can keep an updated record of our current balance(s). But even though this is another area that will require patience as we slowly chip away at my student loan debt (although, thanks to the Debt Snowball method, we'll be out of debt in FAR fewer years than initially anticipated!) and save diligently  each month until we've met our minimum savings goals, we are on track with a great monthly (cash-only) budget that will put us in great financial shape as of this fall. PHEW. What a relief!

These three areas of my life are things that I consider to be in my control, and the closer I get to reaching these goals, the happier my life will be.

What are your "forever goals"? Are there things that stand out to you as controllable aspects of your life that you hope to change for the better? What are they?
