Babymoon to Disney
Dear baby,
Well, it's officially official! Your daddy and I have planned a just-the-two-of-us vacation this summer, something that we have talked about doing since before we found out about you! When it really settled in that we were having a baby, though, we decided that it was especially important that we find the time and money to take a "babymoon." We had a relatively short conversation about where to go, because in the end, there's always one place that is at the top of our list - Walt Disney World. Your daddy and I went there for our honeymoon in June 2011 and had an absolutely wonderful vacation. Even now, two years later, we sometimes sigh deeply and reminisce about our fun/romantic/exciting/joyful/perfect honeymoon.
On the way down to Orlando, we got upgraded to first class, which mean roomier seats, more leg room, and free drinks! (Don't judge us - it was our honeymoon, after all!)
Love,
Mommy
We
were welcomed at our hotel (Coronado Springs) with congratulaions
balloons and a signed note from Mickey. The funniest part was that I
booked the hotel in my name, so the note was signed "Congratulations,
Mr. and Mrs. Housecamp!" (It gave us a good laugh.)
We
LOVED Epcot, and "drank out way around the world" to try drinks from
different countries. Some we loved, and some we did not.
We
took a one-day excursion to Universal so we could see The Wizarding
World of Harry Potter, where we saw Hogwarts Castle, were allowed to cut
the long line for the Harry Potter ride because it was our honeymoon,
and drank delicious butterbeer.
We even got LOTS of "congratulations" desserts that made us feel super special.
This
trip will be a bit different. We're staying at the Walt Disney World
Dolphin hotel, which is located in the Boardwalk region and is within
walking distance of Epcot (where we plan to spend much of our time). We
won't be go-go-going as much as we did on our honeymoon because I will
be 23 weeks pregnant. Plus, we've already been there together once, so
we know which things we absolutely want to do and which things aren't
worth the time. There are some rides that I will not be able to go on
(the Tower of Terror, the Rockin' Roller Coaster, and others) so we
decided not to go to MGM Studios (which is okay because that isn't our
favorite park anyways).
This
trip will also be special for us because we'll be celebrating the fact
that, in four short months, you will be joining our family! There's a
good chance that we will buy some awesome baby Disney souveniers while
we're there.
When
you're old enough, we can't wait to be able to take you to Disney so
that you can experience all of the extraordinary magic that it has to
offer.
Love,
Mommy
