Feeling Blessed

This weekend was very special for me & Sean. During the summer, I get to leave work at noon on Fridays (woohoo!), and while I normally do some shopping or cleaning to entertain myself until Sean gets out of work at 4:45, I picked up Sean early this week for our road trip to Pennsylvania for his little sister's high school graduation. We arrived at his parent's house at around 3:30 and, as always, we were greeted with lots of hugs and love. We visited on the deck for a while and soaked up the gorgeous 75 degree weather before eating an early dinner and driving to her school. She attended a small Catholic high school (only 45 students in her graduating class) so the ceremony was short, but it was a wonderful way to celebrate the accomplishment's of Mary & her classmates. We were especially proud of her for being salutatorian of her class!
Me and Sean right before the graduation ceremony.
After graduation, Mary went to "Operation Graduation," an all-night outing for the graduates, so the rest of us went back to Sean's parent's house and visited for a while before bed. The next day Sean woke up early to play a round of golf with his dad, so I lounged around the house with his mom and sister until he came back. We went for a lovely dip in the pool before heading back home.

On Sunday, we drove to my hometown to see my dad for Father's Day. We met him at my grandma's house and enjoyed a deliciously unhealthy lunch of pizza and wings while watching the U.S. Open, which thrilled my golf-loving husband to no end. I'm not too ashamed to admit that even I enjoyed myself (though it might have just been the fact that I was surrounded by family, and less about what we actually watched).

On our drive home on Sunday evening, Sean said (as he so often does) - "I just love our life. We're so lucky!" And as I think about the wonderful changes that are to come, I can't help but feel overwhelmingly blessed as well. I'm so in love with my husband and know that he will be the best dad in the world. We're moving into the perfect (for us) "first house" and can't wait to start a life there. I am going to become a mommy in 4-5 short months. In the meantime, I have a beautiful life growing inside of me. Who could ask for anything more?
