Dear baby girl,
I
love Halloween. I always
have. I think it's probably due to the fact that my birthday is only 4
days prior and I had many Halloween-themed parties and happy memories
during my childhood years. This year, though, I'm
very pregnant
and not in the greatest condition to do a whole lot (like go to parties
or dress up in costume). Luckily, there are plenty of low-key
celebratory things that I've done & will continue to do tonight!
Things like....
- Wearing my pumpkin earrings (which you will undoubtedly come to know and love) for the entire week of Halloween
- Decorating our front porch with pumpkins and other Halloween decorations
- Carving pumpkins with your daddy
 |
| My initial
pumpkin-carving plan was Minnie Mouse, until I realized that she was
wayyy too difficult for my pumpkin-carving ability level. |
 |
| My finished pumpkin - Tinkerbell! |
 |
| Your daddy was going to carve Pooh, but he changed his mind, too. |
 |
| Your daddy's YODA pumpkin! |
- Roasting pumpkin seeds
- Watching some of my favorite Halloween movies/TV episodes - like Friends ("The One with the Halloween Pary"), Freaks & Geeks ("Tricks & Treats"), and of course It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and the annual Saturday Night Live Halloween Special... all of which we will watch tonight while we are....
- PASSING OUT CANDY! This is one of my favorite parts of Halloween,
and as new homeowners we are especially excited for the first year of
passing candy to our neighborhood kids. The weather isn't supposed to be
great (low 60s and a little rainy) but we're still hoping to see some
cute little kids in costume!
Of course, what we're most looking forward to is your
arrival so that we can share these exciting traditions with you next
Halloween. I wonder what you'll be dressed up as for Halloween 2014?!
Love,
Mommy
