Nursery

Dear baby girl,

With only about four weeks left until we meet you, your daddy and I are doing everything in our power to prepare for your arrival. In the past few weeks, we've:

• purchased/set up baby furniture
• cleared out kitchen cabinets and begun organizing baby bottles, bibs, bowls, etc.
• met with your pediatrician for a pre-natal appointment
• re-arranged the living room (including the removal of our beloved coffee table)
• washed a lot of newborn & 0-3 month clothes and organized your closet

Honestly, we're feeling pretty good about ourselves, and are certainly prepared enough that we'll be ready for whenever you may choose to arrive.

My favorite progress, of course, is the nursery! Even though you won't be sleeping in there for a little while (we have a lovely bassinet that will be next to our bed for the first few months of your life), I'm glad that it's mostly ready for you. All that's left to do is put some finishing decorative touches on the room and for your grandpa to install the front-facing bookshelves that he's building for you. It's not finished, but here's a sneak peak at your room "in progress."

Just for fun, here's a photo of what the nursery looked like when we first saw our house.

We should've opened the curtains for this, but they're really nice blackout curtains that shouldn't let any light in so you'll be able to sleep in peace! The ocean play mat will eventually move into the living room.

We love your crib! It's currently home to many stuffed animals that will eventually be evicted since you can't have anything in the crib with you (for a while, at least). The bassinet is hiding in the corner and will be moved to our bedroom when you're born.

 Once the decorations are up and the gliding rocker has been relocated (it's currenly in the living room until our recliner chair arrives), I'll post more pictures!

We hope that you grow to love this space as your own. We look forward to playing with you and making many memories with you within these walls!
