13 Weeks!
Dear baby,
Today, I am 13 weeks pregnant with you and, slowly but surely, am beginning to getmost some of my energy back. Two nights ago, your daddy and I made dinner together (homemade, delicious fried
brown rice) for the first time in a very long time. Before I found out
that I was pregnant, we cooked homemade dinners together every night.
Now that I'm feeling awake/well enough to continue the tradition, I plan
on trying to appreciate it as much as possible... because I have a
feeling that, once you arrive, you will mix up our routine a bit (in a
wonderful way)!
I'm still very blessed and thankful to you, my gentle baby, for not making me incredibly sick during my first trimester. I have heard horror story after horror story about women who can't keep anything down for the first 12 weeks of their pregnancies, but the worst things I have experienced are:
-Exhaustion
-Slight nausea (mostly when I haven't eaten frequently enough)
-A few other, less blog-appropriate symptoms that other mommas can probably guess
Tomorrow, your daddy and I plan to make a "big announcement" (via Facebook) about how we are expecting you in November, and how thrilled we are. We've already shared the news with our closest friends & family, but I look forward to making it public news! I'll replicate our "announcement" post here sometime tomorrow.
I am still barely managing to fit into my normal pants, but I'm not entirely sure if it's because you're growing or if it's because I've put on a few more pounds than I should have in the past 3 months. In fact, I fought with my pants while I was getting dressed this morning, and the pants won (I broke my zipper). I really should buy some maternity pants to have on hand for when I really need them!
Last week, I had a 12 week ultrasound and saw you moving all over the place! I wonder if this is a preview of what you'll be like when you're here. I saw your tiny hands and feet stretch out, and we have a picture of your profile. You have the most beautiful little nose and jaw I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what you will look like when you are here!
I love you already,
Mommy
