That's Embarrassing!
Today's prompt asks me to write about an embarrassing moment. Although I have these on a daily basis (tripping up stairs, running into walls, spilling coffee on myself... the list goes on), I am unable to think of a recent truly embarrassing moment. Trust me - I've had them - but as I get older, I think they matter less to me and I don't commit them to memory.
But have no fear - I will tell you about one of my most memorable embarrassing moments.
I was in 4th grade. Our teacher was asking us to discuss an article that we had just read, about a school who didn't allow students to skateboard on their property. A student decided to skateboard anyways, and then hurt himself in the process. The question she posed was, "Is the school to blame?" For some reason, I felt very passionate about my response and ferociously waved my hand in the air. When she called on me, I (in typical Emily fashion) quickly spewed my belief that "Just because the student hurt himself on school property doesn't make it the schools fart!" and, because I was in 4th grade, the entire class started hysterically laughing and didn't stop for a long time. Some of my classmates still, 18 years later, remember this incident.
